‘The movement’ is official with Indiana basketball

Tom Crean has fought through the tough times and heard all the negativity others have said about his team. When he arrived, the program was in worse shape than anyone ever could have believed. Indiana basketball head coach Tom Crean is preparing for his fourth season in Bloomington, which begins Friday against Stony Brook.

Today may be one of the most memorable days for Crean …

Meet Indiana’s 2012 recruiting class

Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean has made huge strides in restoring his Hoosier basketball team to glory. IU signed five guys in the 2012 class, covering all five positions on the floor.

If you’re a basketball enthusiast or a high school kid that just wants to play ball, today’s your day.

High school basketball teams around the state of Indiana begin tryouts today. It’s a special day for the players that work their butt off each week to play the sport they love. Now more than ever, basketball is a year-round sport where players compete with AAU …

Cody Zeller quietly goes about business

Cody Zeller has the skills and worth ethic to be one of the top college basketball players. But right now, as a freshman, he’s letting the game come to him.

In the Hoosiers first preseason game, the McDonald’s All-American wasn’t on the stat sheet until about ten minutes in, despite starting. Indiana was victorious over the University of Indianapolis in their lone exhibition game 90-72.…

Broadcasting the IU exhibition game Saturday with Eric Gordon

When I came to Indiana University four years ago, I had no idea of the opportunities ahead of me. Saturday, I will accomplish another one of my life-long career goals before I’m even out of college.

Last year, I filled in for Joe Smith in the IU Radio Network broadcast of the Indiana-Akron football game. Not only was I on the network I grew up …

Butler falls to Division II Northern State 53-50 in exhibition

This wasn’t the start Butler coach Brad Stevens had in mind.

Northern State scored the final 12 points including a shot at the buzzer to knock off Butler on their home floor 53-50. This is the same Northern State team that lost at Purdue 78-46 Tuesday night. Andrew Smith led Butler with 19 points and 8 rebounds while Khyle Marshall added 14.

Unfortunately for Butler, …

Thoughts following IU Haunted Hall of Hoops scrimmage

After watching the football team getting beat badly on homecoming against Northwestern, some basketball was a bit of fresh air. The Indiana men’s basketball team held their fourth-annual Haunted Hall of Hoops, a tradition started by head coach Tom Crean four years ago.

Below is my player-by-play breakdown:

Cody Zeller – he is all that was advertised. He runs the floor extremely well for a …

Video: Purdue’s Matt Painter and Robbie Hummel at Big Ten Media Day

Prior to the 2011 season, Big Ten teams gathered together for media day. Watch Purdue head coach Matt Painter talk with the media as well as my one-on-one with fifth-year senior Robbie Hummel who is returning after a second-straight ACL surgery.

Matt Painter:

Robbie Hummel (Note: I had more questions for Hummel but he was pulled for an ESPN interview):
