The experience of Ohio Stadium in Columbus

I had the pleasure of making the journey to Columbus for the first time and came across amazed. I called the game on 99.1 WIUX in Bloomington and I absolutely enjoyed the experience—although I wish the game was closer.

Friday night I hit the town and ate dinner at Eddie George’s Grille. Football at Ohio State is life which was evident on game day. Over …

Back on the airwaves-headed to Ohio State

After a tremendous opportunity two weeks ago on the Indiana Radio Network, I’m back on the air for the IU football game—this time calling the game on IU’s student radio station. I’m getting set to make the journey to Columbus, Ohio and visit the legendary ‘Horseshoe.’

My buddy Dan Karell and I will have the broadcast from Ohio Stadium Saturday afternoon beginning around 11:45 AM …

Michigan trumps Indiana in conference opener shootout

A sold out crowd was on hand Saturday afternoon as Indiana opened Big Ten play against No. 19 Michigan. The weather cooperated in Bloomington and cleared up a couple hours before kickoff.

This game was set up to be a high scoring affair with record setting numbers. And it was no disappointment, except for the final score. Michigan 42, Indiana 35.

Forget the Manning bowl, this weekend is the ‘Hagerup-Black’ bowl

Two weeks ago, the country was all to familiar with the ‘Manning Bowl,’ as Peyton hosted little brother Eli to Lucas Oil Stadium. This weekend as the Indiana football team laces up against No. 19 Michigan, there will be two brother combinations.

The Hoosiers punter, redshirt junior Chris Hagerup will be trying to out-dual his little brother Will, the Wolverines freshman punter. The pair grew …

The start of fall also means the start of college athletics. Athletes are back at their respective colleges if not there all summer to take classes and work out. The football season is now here meaning plenty opportunities for bets, pools and fantasy leagues for college athletes.

The rules are a bit off and need to be changed. The NCAA says that no athlete, coach …

Gameday: Indiana welcomes Towson to Memorial Stadium

It’s the fall and football season—and for the second straight year, Indiana will kick off its 126th season on Thursday as IU hosts the Tigers of Towson to Bloomington at 7:30 p.m. This is the first-ever meeting between the two schools and very much a preseason like game for Indiana.

Bill Lynch enters his fourth season as head coach with eight players returning on offense …

Conference Shakeup Imminent

The college conference shuffle continues.

Last week Nebraska officially became a member of the Big Ten and will begin play in the 2011 season. This is the first of many more changes to drive in more revenue and to promote the Big Ten product. Teams will soon make nearly $17 million a year just from the Big Ten Network that will gain a Nebraska presence. …

Wisconsin Takes Advantage of Indiana’s Turnovers

The Hoosiers fell just short to Wisconsin 31-28 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Indiana continued to struggle rushing the ball, especially in the first half. Redshirt-freshman Darius Willis found no open holes on his 6 carries for only 6 net yards. He left in the game in the second quarter with what appeared to be an injury to his right leg. Bryan Payton picked it …
