Indiana is another step closer to returning to greatness. Thursday, Lawrence Central junior forward Jeremy Hollowell committed to join his friends to do something special at Indiana debuting 2012.

North Central handled adversity just fine Saturday morning, topping 5th-seeded Pike 79-73 in front of about 9,000 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Without the services of their best player, D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, NC had a strong second half to propel them into the regional finals Saturday night against Hamilton Southeastern who knocked off Center Grove 69-64.

It had been 40 years since a basketball sectional had been held in Bloomington. What better way to kick it off than a North v. South matchup in Friday’s sectional semi-final. South, playing on their home court, completed the regular season with a 20-2 record against North’s 12-8 mark. The Panthers defeated North at home earlier in the season 86-55.
