Big Shots. Big Players. Big Ten.

Another great day in the Big Ten Men’s basketball tournament is upon us. And it certainly hasn’t been disappointing yet. Well, except for Indiana fans. Indiana held a double digit advantage at one point yesterday, only to go scoreless for nine minutes in the 2nd half. During which, Northwestern went on a 22-6 run. But it’s more than that. A fantastic atmosphere here at Conseco …

Big Ten Tournament Invades the Circle City

The 2010 Men’s tournament is underway in Indianapolis and there is nothing better. Conseco Fieldhouse is basketball country the next 4 days. The Big Ten and it’s faithful fans invade Indy for an eventful long weekend culminating in the end of the Big Ten season. On Sunday, the conference will no longer matter as teams will look forward to the NCAA tournament.

Indianapolis without question …

Indiana Survives Northwestern in OT

Indiana was finally able to end their 11-game losing streak, knocking off Northwestern in OT 88-80. This win gave Indiana their 10th win, and ended a drought in which Indiana hadn’t won since January 21st. It was a quality win by this young basketball team and staff desperate for a win. This wasn’t a typical looking Indiana basketball game we had seen all this season. …

The Recruiting Trail

Matt Painter at Purdue must be complimented on his recruiting. Not only is he getting some quality talent, but he took over the reigns of dominating in-state talent. No longer does Indiana year after year get the state’s best players. On the Boilers roster, 13 of 17 players are from Indiana. That where it starts.

A look at Tom Crean’s two recruits thus far – …

Dejected Hoosiers face in-state foe

Tonight the struggling Indiana basketball team heads north to face that opponent from up-north. It won’t be an easy game. It won’t be an interesting game. In fact, it won’t even be a fun game. IU has lost their last 10 games, and their next win may have to wait until next season.

After tonight, Indiana hosts a quality Northwestern team on Saturday which is …

The Challenging Days of Indiana Basketball

This has been a tough sports year in Indiana. This is Indiana. Indiana basketball is the dominant sport, yet the team has won just 9 (9-14) games this season and has looked like a JV team multiple times. Half the team is a year older, and 6 great freshman are emerging but burnt out. With the best player on the team our, Maurice Creek—a freshman, …

A Dream Sports Week

Yes it has been a while since my last post. Ironically, the last post was after the Colts first loss because Bill Polian made the decision to pull the starters against the Jets, whom the Colts face this weekend in the AFC Championship.

What I have been up to since then – working Pacers, IU, Butler, and ESPN games.

In fact this last week was …

Creek done for the season as Hoosiers coast

Indiana matched last season’s win total, picking up their 6th win of the season with a 90-42 victory over Bryant University. Bryant, in just their 2nd year of playing Division I basketball, it was evident from the outset that this would be a momentum win, a win that would boost the confidence of this young team.

The big news however is that Tom Crean lost …
