Pacers Last Week: Feb. 5 — Rasual Butler remembered, Jefferson schools young bigs, GRIII rehabs in Fort Wayne

A lot happens each week with the Pacers and it’s not easy to stay on top of it. Pacers Last Week keeps updated on everything going on with the franchise.

Victor Oladipo attended the IU-Purdue game in Bloomington, his first IU game since becoming a pro. He was honored before the game. His former IU teammate, Cody Zeller, discussed Oladipo’s development and how he’s found…

Al Jefferson is a proud Patriots fan and wants to see Tom Brady go out on top

Like most sports fans in Indiana, Al Jefferson will be on his couch to watch the Super Bowl. But unlike most in Indiana, the Pacers center will be proudly wearing his Tom Brady jersey.

“At home, baby! At home with my Tom Brady jersey on, ready to get another one,” he said after the Pacers beat the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday night.

Professor Al Jefferson enjoys showing young guns his ‘dinosaur’ game

Class was in session Saturday night.

The incredibly talented and athletic 7-foot center Joel Embiid, hampered by injuries over his first three NBA seasons, played his first career game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and went against many different looks as the Pacers held off the Philadelphia 76ers off, 100-92.

Both teams played the previous night so fatigue and physical play was a factor all night.…

Running thoughts: Pacers 100, 76ers 92

Here are my running thoughts from the Pacers’ 100-92 win over the Philadelphia 76ers Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Both teams played last night. The Pacers lost in Charlotte, yielding a franchise-worst 49 points in the first quarter, and the 76ers won at home over the Miami Heat. This was the Pacers’ final regular-season home game on a Saturday night of the season. Pretty…

Edmond Sumner’s rookie season has been anything but typical for a first-year player in professional basketball. He suffered a torn ACL last year while at Xavier University, so most of 2017 was spent rehabbing and getting through the mental challenges of being away from the game he loves.

The Pacers acquired a second second-round pick on draft night and used the pick from New Orleans …

This will be Oladipo’s second time in the featured event on All-Star Saturday. He last participated in 2015, representing the Orlando Magic, and finished in second behind Zach LaVine, now with the Chicago Bulls.

His competition: Aaron Gordon (Magic), Larry Nance Jr. (Lakers), …

Glenn Robinson III continues rehab process with game action in G League

The next step in Glenn Robinson III’s rehabilitation of his left ankle took him two hours north on Interstate 69, to Fort Wayne on Thursday, where he suited up for the Mad Ants of the G League for just the second time.

Robinson III played 28 minutes and finished with 12 points (5 of 14 from the field, 1 of 4 from range), two rebounds, …

Damien Wilkins returns to Greensboro Swarm

Determined to finish the season on an NBA roster, Damien Wilkins has returned to the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, the team announced Thursday.

It was with the Swarm last season, averaging 14.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 31.5 minutes per game in 2016-17, where the Pacers took notice of Wilkins’ play. Especially Chad Buchanan, the Pacers’ general manager who then …
