Amid rumors, Paul George vows to stay with Pacers

The NBA trade deadline creeps slowly, but mightily, into the spotlight around late February each season. This event is much more a tornado of rumors and speculation than a series of realistic transactions that may only take place in a video game.

However, it stands tall in comparison to trade discussions that occur in the other major American sports — football, baseball and hockey. NBA …

VIDEO: Paul George on the state of the Pacers at the All-Star Break

The Pacers have followed up their longest winning streak (seven) of the season with their longest losing streak (six). It stretched to six consecutive losses Thursday as they trailed wire-to-wire in a 111-98 loss to the Washington Wizards (34-21) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Challenging schedule should prevent letup for Pacers before All-Star break

The Pacers are enjoying a seven-game win streak, their best stretch of the season. They’ve won games they should against weaker teams, such as Brooklyn and Orlando, and they’ve won against quality foes like Houston and Oklahoma City.

At 29-22, they have the sixth best record in the Eastern Conference behind Cleveland, Boston, Toronto, Washington, and Atlanta. They are just a game out of fourth …

Paul George locks down James Harden, and scores 33

Locked in and engaged from the tip, Paul George held James Harden to 15 points Sunday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the Pacers (25-22) earned their third straight victory, 120-101, over the Houston Rockets (35-16).

George has been a pest for Harden their entire career. This was another performance where Harden didn’t look comfortable and could not get in a groove against Indiana’s star.…

Paul George excelling at the free throw line

Paul George has become a force at the free throw line. A big-time weapon. Almost automatic.

He’s “eating” at the stripe, as some in the locker room like to put it.

Through 39 games, the now four-time NBA All-Star has gone 184-of-199 at the foul line — good for a NBA-best 92.5 percent.

He had his finest evening of the season Friday night in a …

Paul George, Nate McMillan ejected in Pacers’ loss to Utah

It wasn’t a pleasant end to a three-game road trip out West for the Indiana Pacers (22-21). In Utah, with cold temperatures and plenty of snowfall, Pacers star Paul George and head coach Nate McMillan were ejected in the fourth quarter of their 109-100 loss to the Jazz.

George, a three-time NBA All-Star who is easily annoyed by officiating, had never been ejected prior to this season. Now he’s …
