Pacers FanJam 2015

The Indiana Pacers hosted their annual FanJam Sunday afternoon, 11 days before the team opens the regular season across the border in Toronto against the Raptors (Oct. 28). It set up nicely because it was a nice pre-game to the Colts and Patriots battling on Sunday Night Football.

The crowd was smaller than in year’s past, but still an engaged, rowdy bunch.

Sock game on point — Stance unveils Pacers on-court socks

As players in the National Basketball Association continue to be more fashionable, the league has following suit. Stance, a sock company founded in 2009, won the rights last April to become the NBA’s official on-court sock provider starting with the upcoming 2015-16 season.

With a new sock company on board, new ideas were also discussed. The 30 teams all still have white and black basic …

PHOTO: Pacers past with the future — TJ Ford and Myles Turner together at Texas football game

Two weeks into the college football season and Pacers first-round pick Myles Turner has been in the stands for both games of his former team.

Following a weather delay, Turner took the mound … and put some real heat on the ball. His pitch went way past the batter’s box — but …

The Hoosier Gym is a must-visit for hoops fans — and you can rent it out for $30/hour

Last weekend, I ventured east of downtown Indianapolis on Interstate 70 to Knightstown, Indiana. It was a straight-shot drive, nearly 40 miles to the home of the “The Hoosier Gym.”

That gym, of course, was used in the basketball movie seen by sports fans across the country: Hoosiers.

The Hoosier Gym remains in great condition and is a mini museum. Upon entering, there’s a small …

Dropping Dimes Foundation tips-off fundraising efforts to aid former ABA players

On a Sunday evening in mid-July, seven former ABA Pacers were together in one room — for one cause they care dearly about.

If you knew these guys, you would know coming together is nothing out of the ordinary for them. They’ll often meet up at one of their houses and hang out. Some attend Pacers games regularly. The men (and their families) have remained …
