Daytona 500 Preview

The best way to describe Speedweeks so far this year: unpredictable. Every race seems to have had a surprise winner, close-quarters racing and lots of carnage.

There are things though that can be predicted in the race Sunday. The racing will be much better from a “fan” standpoint. The pack racing is a lot more exciting than those “thrilling” two-car tandems that were featured last …

Dan Wheldon’s life celebrated with a touching tribute

After Dan Wheldon’s deadly accident last weekend in Las Vegas, his friends, peers and the community of Indianapolis threw a special celebration to honor his life cut too short.

Wheldon died after blunt head trauma in the final IndyCar series race of the season…not quite the thrilling, down-to-wire finish the series had in mind. About 2,500 fans were on hand for the 90-minute tribute to …

Gone too soon, Dan Wheldon’s legacy will last forever in IndyCar

Sunday was suppose to be a spectacular finish to the IndyCar Series year. There was buildup, the series championship on the line, and a prize of $5 million that many desired. Dan Wheldon was one of those drivers laying it all on the line, as they all do, for a sport they truly love.

Carpenter Wins Kentucky Thriller

It’s been a long time coming, but IZOD IndyCar Series driver Ed Carpenter picked up his first ever series win Sunday at Kentucky Speedway in dramatic fashion.

In almost the complete opposite of his luck in 2009 (when he lost to Ryan Briscoe by .0162 of a second), Carpenter edged out Dario Franchitti by .0098 of a second after having a 20-lap wheel-to-wheel battle with …

Stewart Showing His Stuff In The Chase

Before the Chase started, someone asked me who I thought could pose a threat to Jimmie Johnson’s bid for six straight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships.  I replied, “Tony Stewart.”  Things were just too quiet surrounding him this year.  There was something eerie about it.  Even without winning a race in the first 26 races of the year, you looked at his history of winning …

Brad Keselowski fires off bold tweets on the declining IndyCar Series

NASCAR drivers are known for being loud and honest. Late Wednesday night, 27 year-old driver Brad Keselowski was very outspoken on twitter about the differences between NASCAR and IndyCar.

He believes IndyCar racing is no longer interesting and it has lost people’s attention. Admitting he was a big fan growing up, Keselowski also notes that the series needs more American drivers to drum up interest.…
