Classy Spurs Determined to Advance

San Antonio Spurs After watching the Spurs close out their first round series against Dallas, what’s not to like? I really enjoy watching this quality Spurs ball club play quality team, I repeat TEAM basketball.

This team resembles the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Led by Coach Gregg Popovich, this classy team that represents San Antonio well. Their players are not troublesome, unless you are talking about trying to guard them. Tim Duncan is their soft-spoken leader. He leads by example rather than by being outspoken and in the spotlight. It is more a reflection of their team. Just focused on business.

The fearsome threesome includes Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. This dynamic trio has kept San Antonio at the top of the NBA for the last 12 years.

San Antonio has captured the NBA Championship in 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007. They consistently play the top competition in the Western Conference. They are a team to resemble and one to cheer for. Who isn’t tired of hearing of Kobe whine to officials or how they are paying him over $90 million for 3 years. The Spurs quietly go on with their business with little to no attention.

Geroge Hill2 Former Indianapolis star George Hill from Broad Ripple High School and IUPUI is thriving in a perfect situation. He had 29 points in game four, and 21 Thursday in game 6. He has been called on the last couple of seasons to step up when star point guard Tony Parker has been injured. Hill, (12.4ppg, 3apg) has been one of the few players that has made it in the NBA because of his relentless effort and determination. And his character is superb.

With the NBA playoffs finishing up the first round, San Antonio is clearly who I am cheering for. With the Pacers not making the playoffs for the fourth straight year, the Spurs are a fun team to work with and full of class. From equipment manager to trainer, from coaches to players, the Spurs is one of my favorite teams to work with and cheer for. Quietly going after another title.
