Danny Granger, who was drafted by the team in 2005 and played nearly nine seasons in Indy, is in Houston for the men’s Final Four. He’s been on the set of CBS Sports Network providing his perspective and analysis of the games.
Watching Oklahoma get blown out by Villanova by 44 points, Granger tweeted the following:
How many millions did #BuddyHield just cost himself? He may slide in the draft right down to my @pacers! 🙏🏿👍🏽

Notice that last past, “to my Pacers!” with prayer hands and a thumbs up.
Hield is a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year, the 2016 Naismith Trophy winner, and Sporting News Player of the Year, among many honors. The 6-foot-4 senior guard is predicted to be taken seventh overall in the upcoming 2016 NBA Draft, according to DraftExpress.com.
Granger may have received paychecks from five other teams — 76ers, Clippers, Heat, Suns, and Pistons — over the last three years, but it was interesting … and kind of cool to see him say “My Pacers.”
Granger was traded to Detroit over the offseason, but he was then bought out and did not play a game this season. He actually hasn’t played for the last two teams for which he has collected a paycheck. Miami included Granger in a deal for point guard Goran Dragic in Feb. 2015. Then, in July, Phoenix included him in a deal to Detroit to create space to potentially sign LaMarcus Aldridge, who eventually landed in San Antonio.

Granger, who resides in Arizona, has not officially stated that he’s retired. He has also done a lot of TV work on NBA TV this season.
