Almost one year after suffering a torn left ACL, guard Edmond Sumner will return to game action for the first time Friday Night.
Sumner, who has been practicing with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the G League for nearly a month, is planning to make his professional debut in a home game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7:00 pm at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Sumner will initially be restricted to 15 minutes per game, a league source told VigilantSports.com.
He shared his excitement to return both on Instagram and Twitter.
Been a long rollercoaster journey, but I finally can hit the court on Friday!

On December 1, Sumner was cleared for contact work. He has been “itching” to get back on the court with teammates for months.
Sumner, 22, tore his left ACL in a win over St. John’s on January 29, 2017 as a sophomore at Xavier University. He then entered his name into the 2017 NBA Draft and was taken 52nd overall by the Pacers, who obtained his rights from the New Orleans Pelicans for cash considerations.
Sumner then became the first player to sign a two-way contract with the Pacers. It is a two-year deal, according to a league source.
Last year at Xavier, Sumner averaged 15 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.
