Donald Sloan, the third-string point guard for the Indiana Pacers the past two seasons, has found a new home. The 27-year-old has signed with the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced on Monday.
A deal has been in place for some time, but since Sloan changed agents this summer had had to wait the mandatory 15 days.
The Pacers overhauled their roster this summer by bringing in seven new players. Although the team does not have a true point guard on its roster, a number of guys — Rodney Stuckey, Monta Ellis, Joe Young, Paul George — can initiate the offense in addition to George Hill.
Sloan solidified a spot with the Pacers ahead of the 2013-14 season behind starter Hill and C.J. Watson. The Texas A&M product appeared in 101 games over two seasons and made 21 starts, including 21 of them during the 2014-15 campaign. He averaed 7.4 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game this past season.
The Nets will be the fifth different team Sloan, who is set to begin his fifth season in the league, has suited up for in The Association.
