Glenn Robinson III hosts second annual camp at his alma mater

Lake Central High School welcomed one of its one back to the school’s gym in St. John, Indiana this week. Glenn Robinson III, a 2012 graduate who then went on to play two years at the University of Michigan prior to being selected 40th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft.

For the second straight year, Robinson III, who is 23 and coming off his best season in the league, hosted a basketball camp for two days. The camp, running from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm each day, is one way for him to take care of his community.

On Tuesday, the second day of his camp, Robinson III was joined by his high school coach along with Spike Albrecht, a native of Crown Point and a former teammate at Michigan.

Unlike some pros at their camps, Robinson III was there the entire time and was interactive with the campers, according to those in attendance. As you can see in the photos, he was just one of the guys at lunch – hanging out in the cafeteria having a conversation.

Robinson III averaged 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in his third NBA season. His contract with the Pacers for next season, year three in Indiana, becomes guaranteed ($1.5 million) if he’s not waived by the team before July 1 — the start of the NBA fiscal year.
