The Indiana Pacers are more than a week into training camp but they have added another player to their roster. Undrafted free agent forward Kadeem Jack officially signed with the team on Tuesday and he plans to wear No. 7.
With Jack’s signing, the Pacers’ training camp roster grows to 18. He is the fourth rookie in camp, along with Myles Turner, Joe Young, and Rakeem Christmas.
Jack, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward, averaged 13 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season at Rutgers. Jack’s first NBA workout, prior to the 2015 NBA Draft, was for the Brooklyn Nets.
Jack isn’t going to make the Pacers’ regular-season roster, as they already have 15 players with guaranteed deals plus one with a partial guarantee. The signing allows Pacers executives to get a close-up look at Jack’s game during camp and for the 22-year-old to learn the team’s system. He is another player who would benefit from time in the Developmental League, up in Fort Wayne with the Mad Ants.
