Cavaliers star LeBron James will not be in uniform Wednesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. James, a two-time NBA Champion and four-time MVP, will be held out against the Pacers for rest purposes.
The Cavaliers are on the second night of a back-to-back having won last night in Milwaukee. They have four regular season games remaining, including tonight.
This will be his fifth time sitting out this season. The Cavaliers are 1-3 without him this year and 4-13 over the last two years. First in the Eastern Conference standings, Cleveland (56-22) has won four in a row and has a 3.5 game lead on Toronto.
The Pacers have lost all three meetings this season — with each game decided by four, five, and four points, respectively.
James has faced the Pacers 47 times over his career, averaging 26.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game.
Meantime, the Pacers (41-36) are without backup point guard Ty Lawson, who missed shootaround Wednesday morning to see a doctor regarding his upper respiratory infection.
