Myles Turner will have the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday’s Indianapolis Indians game. The Pacers’ first-round pick in June – a 239-pound 7-footer – is sure to stand out on the diamond. As a kid, Turner played several sports.
The Indians (81-59), who have the best record in the International League, have only four regular season games remaining — the first two being at home against Toledo (59-81).
Friday night’s game is being dubbed as “Suicide Prevention Awareness Night,” with a jersey auction benefitting Community Health Network Foundation scheduled for after the game. There will also be fireworks (!!!).
This will be a fun thing for Turner to do, and a great outreach out ahead of the new season that is less than four weeks away. Unfortunately, he’s doing it on a busy night in Indy with all area high schools playing football.

With the game slated to begin at 7:15 p.m., Turner’s first pitch will be thrown at approximately 7 p.m.
