Niele Ivey calls out Lance Stephenson – #Chillin4Charity

Lance Stephenson was called out Tuesday night.

Not by his Pacers teammates or coaches, but by Niele Ivey. The ex-Indiana Fever guard (2001-04) and current Notre Dame women’s basketball assistant coach challenged Stephenson, along with former Irish hooper Skylar Diggins, athletic director Jack Swarbrick, and head football coach Brian Kelly.

As Ivey completed the challenge, one member of her team blew in her ear — resembling Stephenson.

Stephenson replied back saying that he is in.

The cold water challenge was started by Arizona women’s basketball coach Niya Butts and benefits the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. If a person who is called out completes the challenge, the person who called them out donates $50 to cancer fund. If not, the challenger owes $250. Because student-athletes are involved in the movement, they pay with community service hours.

It’s a social media movement – #Chillin4Charity.

Others within Pacers Sports & Entertainment have already participated. Five, in fact.

Indiana Fever head coach Lin Dunn, associate head coach Stephanie White, All-Star forward Tamika Catchings, as well as rookies Natasha Howard (Florida State) and Maggie Lucas (Penn State).

My friend Ashley Adamson, now with the Pac-12 Network, joined in on the challenge as well.
