Bobby Portis, the SEC Player of the Year out of Arkansas, worked out for the Pacers Thursday morning. Portis, a 6-foot-10 power forward that is used to playing in a fast tempo, got a big smile on his face when asked about the Pacers’ system and how he could fit in.
At the workout, Portis matched up with another expected first-round pick in Trey Lyles of Kentucky. Portis was sure to make clear with reporters afterwards that he’s 2-2 all-time against UK.
Portis’ workout with the Pacers was No. 7 — he plans to do complete 11 in total — with previous stops in Boston, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Utah, Detroit, and Houston.
