Another hometown kid came through Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a pre-draft workout. This time, it was Yogi Ferrell, who won two Class 2A State Championships while in high school at Park Tudor. He then went on to play four years at Indiana and is now working to prove himself to NBA executives.
“He shot the hell out of the ball,” one team observer told me after the Pacers’ seventh pre-draft workout.
Ferrell shot 45.8 percent from the field in his senior season, including 42 percent from deep.

His workout with the Pacers was his 15th, with his final one scheduled for Saturday for Brad Stevens’ Celtics. Ferrell, who averaged 17.3 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game, plans to be in Indy during the 2016 NBA Draft — next Thursday, June 23rd.
