A lot happens each week with the Pacers and it’s not easy to stay on top of it. Introducing a new weekly feature, Pacers Last Week, which should help keep you up-to-date on all things Pacers.
- Mark Boyle, the Radio Voice of the Pacers, signed on for another season behind the microphone. The 2017-18 season will be his 30th year with the organization.
- The Pacers decided on their final player contract that was non-guaranteed for this upcoming season, which belonged to center Kevin Seraphin. They waived him.
- After clearing waivers, Seraphin signed a two-year deal with FCB Basket in Barcelona.
- Al Jefferson changed his number from 7 to 25. Rookie Ike Anigbogu claimed No. 13. That was his number at UCLA.
- Jordan Loyd, the UIndy product who played 49 of 50 games with the Mad Ants last season, signed to play in Israel next season.
- Nick Zeisloft, an IU graduate and former Mad Ants guard, signed with BC Šiauliai in Lithuania.
- Head coach Nate McMillan celebrated his 53rd birthday.
- Rookie T.J. Leaf purchased a new car. A Mercedes-Benz.
- Team Challenge ALS, coached by Pacers point guard Darren Collison, came up just short in The Basketball Tournament. They lost in the championship game to Overseas Elite, which has won each of the last three years. The winning prize was $2 million.
- Victor Oladipo proudly represented the Pacers in South Africa and was named game MVP of the league’s second-ever Africa game. (Chris Denari and Quinn Buckner once again called the game for the world feed.) They spent a week in Johannesburg.
