A lot happens each week with the Pacers and it’s not easy to stay on top of it. Introducing a new weekly feature, Pacers Last Week, which should help keep you up-to-date on all things Pacers.
The Pacers took care of business at home, winning all four at home last week. Two more left of this six-game homestand, their longest stretch of home games since the 2006-07 season.
- Lance Stephenson provided his highlight of the year (thus far) in a win over New York.
- Power agent Andy Miller of ASM Sports relinquished his NBPA agent certification, according to Woj. He represented Myles Turner, who declined to comment on the situation.
- Joe Young tweeted a request for fans to fill Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Several of his teammates feel the same way and retweeted it. “We will bring A lot of ENERGY BUT WE WANT A PACKED INTENSE CROWD.”
- There was a lengthy but healthy debate on Twitter regarding Pacers attendance and why fans haven’t shown up. They’re percentage of seats filled per game ranked 28th. Get-in prices are around $6 on the secondary market. I received more than a half dozen DMs on Twitter on the subject.
- NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that the league plans to put a G League team in Mexico City and it would ultimately be the 31st team — and not one with a 1 to 1 affiliation, like the Mad Ants are to the Pacers.
- LeBron James and Dwayne Wade each praised Pacers fans and the environment at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. James called it a “historical building.”
- Glenn Robinson III, who had ankle surgery during training camp, is out of a boot and shooting on a daily basis. He also joined the team on the bench for the first time.
- They ended the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 13-game win streak, which was one win shy of a new franchise record.
- Victor Oladipo signed his shoes for fans after their win over the Cavs, which I captured here.
- He then explained his signature celebration – “This is My House.”
- Myles Turner and Oladipo raved about the locker room culture.
