Almost one month before the team assembles in Indianapolis for the start of training camp on Sept. 29, the Pacers have published their preseason schedule.
In October, the Pacers play seven exhibition games, including three home at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. They’ll travel to Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago, and the wrap up their 2015-16 preseason slate up in Fort Wayne, Ind., against Charlotte.
The Oct. 22 game up at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, home of the NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants, will be the Pacers’ first game up there since 2008.
Every one of the Pacers home games brings a familiar face to Indiana. North Central grad and 2007 Indiana Mr. Basketball will make two appearances, including the preseason, this season as the Pacers open up play against the Pelicans on Oct. 3. A fellow IU hooper, Victor Oladipo, comes through the next week when the Orlando Magic visit.
A few days later, Danny Granger, who was traded by Phoenix to Detroit over the summer, faces the team that drafted him 17th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft.
Then, after two road games against division teams — Cleveland and Chicago — the Pacers make the two-hour drive up to Fort Wayne to face 2011 Indiana Mr. Basketball Cody Zeller and the Hornets.
Pacers camp commences on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, they open the regular season on Oct. 28 across the border in Toronto, and then immediately return to Indianapolis for their home opener against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Season-ticket packages are already on sales and have done very well. Single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
