Paul George has returned home, sources told VigilantSports.com. He flew from Las Vegas to Indianapolis on a private plane late Tuesday, and was joined by Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard, a source said.
This comes four days after he was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital and into surgery to repair his horrific leg injury suffered during a intrasquad scrimmage while playing with USA Basketball. He is expected to miss the entire 2014-15 NBA season.
The Pacers have since applied for the disabled player exception, which would allow the team to sign another play in his absence. With an open tibia-fibula fracture, as George had, he’ll most likely keep from putting any pressure on his right leg for about three months to ensure the bones heals properly.
