Taking after his boss, Pacers star Paul George made himself available to sign one autograph for all Pacers full-time employees Monday afternoon. Thanks to his partnership with Papa John’s, pizza was also provided.

This type of thing has happened before over at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Pacers President Larry Bird used to sign one item per employee — or, as the organization likes to put it, the “Team Behind the Team” — each year just before Christmas.
Gary Nelson, who does a great job running the gift shop in the Fieldhouse, was undoubtedly always thankful for it. During his annual discount day in December, where employees can stock up on apparel for themselves along with gifts for others, Bird’s Hardwood Classic Celtics jersey would sell out fast as employees preferred to get his legendary jersey signed.
For George, it’s a wonderful gesture.
And, it’s not the first time he has done such a thing. After he took part in his first All-Star weekend in Feb. 2013, George provided each full-time employee with a personalized letter and an autograph poster (as pictured below).
