The 2015 NBA Draft is still a month away and Christmas isn’t for another seven months but the NBA’s adidas Christmas Day uniforms have been unearthed by Paul Lukas at Uni-Watch.
At first glance, these are pretty slick. The cursive font and cream color give it a Christmas-like feel. Thankfully, they are not sleeved and do not have some wild design.
And, I’m told adidas, the official outfitter of the league for two more seasons, has something else even better in the works for the Pacers this season.
This past year, featured a big team logo and number centered on the jersey, and then the players’ front name on the back. In 2013, the Pacers’ design — although they never wore them — was a t-shirt jersey with a v-neck and what looked liked a glittered logo.
It’s unclear what NBA teams will wear their Christmas Day uniforms because the schedule is not yet out. One would expect teams such as Cleveland, Golden State, Chicago, and Los Angeles (Clippers) to be involved. (See Uni-Watch’s story for a look at other teams’ designs.) As they did in 2013, it would be reasonable to expect these jerseys to be sold for teams, regardless if they are playing on Christmas Day.
