More than 4,300 miles East of Indiana sits Barcelona, Spain. There you will find teams competing in the FIBA World Cup, including Team USA. As the USA squad trounced Mexico, 86-63, on Saturday, a sign seen on TV – but mostly on the Internet – was special back here in Indiana.
A couple of fans in USA gear held up the sign above, which reads, “PAUL GEORGE — COME BACK STRONGER”
After seeing the photo on Twitter, George tweeted, “That’s love!!!” The little act, letting George know he was in their thoughts across the Atlantic Ocean, surely made him smile.
Though he is not there playing or with the team because of the brutal leg injury he suffered back on August 1, that doesn’t mean he isn’t following along and supporting his guys.
“Lets go today boys,” he tweeted before a recent game.
