This right here is for all the gamers. 2K’s annual version of NBA2K hits stores on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The question NBA players (and their fans) want to know is … what’s their rating?
On a scale of 0 to 100, cover man Paul George rated the highest among Indiana players with an 89. That’s right, George, who plays for a small-market team, is featured on the cover of the top-selling NBA game.
Playing an entire season last year and helping Team USA to a gold medal, George saw his score rise three points over this time last year when he was unhappy with an 86.
George’s 89 rating is 10 points higher than any other teammate. Newcomers Jeff Teague and Thad Young earned a 79 rating. What’s important to know is that these ratings will change. NBA2K17 regularly updates the game based on each player’s actual play in, ya know, real life.
A screenshot of their ratings was captured from the first official 1-on-1 game of the soon-to-be-released version. Rookie Georges Niang, Rakeem Christmas, and the latest signee, Kevin Seraphin, are the three Pacers with guaranteed contracts who are not listed below.
LeBron James has a league-best 96 rating.
Other top-rated played players, per The Sporting News:
94 – Stephen Curry;
93 – Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard;
91 – Chris Paul;
90 – Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, James Harden, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins;
89 – Paul George, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard.
