The Houston Rockets won’t have guard Ty Lawson for its next three games, including Sunday’s home game against the Pacers at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Lawson, who was traded to Houston by Denver over the offseason, has been suspended three games without pay by the NBA for driving under the influence of alcohol in California back in July.
Lawson has played in all 32 games this season — starting in 11 — and he’s averaged 6.4 points, 4.3 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game. He hasn’t quite been as successful as hoped by the Rockets — but you could also say that about that team in general.
They fired head coach Kevin McHale after a 4-7 start and, at 17-19, are currently seventh in the Western Conference.
The Pacers (20-15) are halfway through a four-game roadie with games in New Orleans (Friday) and Houston (Sunday) remaining.
Ty Lawson suspension will cost him $338k total for the 3 games suspended. Lawson already lost $225k in wages from a previous suspension.
