Hinkle Fieldhouse, home of the Butler Bulldogs, opened in 1928 and is the oldest basketball facility in the state of Indiana. Due to Butler’s unprecedented success on the basketball court, playing in the title game in both 2010 and 2011, the athletic department has decided to renovate the spectacular venue.
The outside of the U.S. National Historic Landmark will not change but it will receive a major upgrade inside. The project is planned to begin next summer. Butler released a 3D animated virtual tour of the upgrades, narrated by The Voice of Butler, Brandon Gaudin. Below are the highlights along with the video.

Replace bench seating with more chair-back seating up to track level (it will reduce capacity from 10,000 to about 8,500).

Convert old pool to a three-story, 18,000 square-foot:
1st floor- locker rooms, showers, common space for the football team
2nd floor- better training facilities, academic center, study area, computer lab, coaches offices
3rd floor- reception room, administrative offices, and meeting rooms

Located at the northeast corner of Hinkle Fieldhouse
Welcome area for donors and guests at games
Double the size
The area can also be used for banquets and receptions.
