Donald Sloan spent the last two NBA seasons in Indianapolis with the Pacers as the third-string point guard. There were times when he was really needed, especially last season during a run on injuries. He did his job, no questions asked, and when on the floor always looked to push it. He provided a different dynamic when he played.
After two seasons (101 games), Sloan hit free agency in the summer and chose to sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Entering Friday’s game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse against his old team, he looks to have a larger role than he has with the Nets. The team ruled out four players, and two more are questionable. Sloan said it feels like last year.
Sloan is playing behind another former Pacer, Jarrett Jack.
In the conversation above, I talked with Sloan before morning shootaround about returning to Indy, what he’s seen with the Pacers, and the year Paul George is having.
