It’ll be just their second appearance on national television this season. They’ve surprised everyone, both in their results (48-34) and how quickly they have learned on the go despite returning just six players from last year’s roster.
Before the Pacers departed for Cleveland Saturday afternoon, coach Nate McMillan and key players met with the media to discuss their season, keys to a playoff run, and matching up against the LeBron-led Cavaliers.
The Pacers won three of four regular-season meetings this season, but that doesn’t mean much, coach McMillan says.
“This is a different season for us. We did some good things during the regular season, but the playoffs are a different style of basketball and we’re really in a wait-and-see how we respond to this challenge. It’s a different challenge, going up against one of the top teams and one of the top players in the game.”
