VIDEO: Pacers featured in SNL’s cold open

The opening sketch to Saturday Night Live played off of last weekend’s Colts game in Indianapolis when Vice President (and Indiana native) Mike Pence walked out after many San Francisco 49ers players took a knee instead than standing during the National Anthem.

Pence leaving the game came at the request of President Donald Trump. And because SNL loves presidents, similar scenarios were played out during the opening sketch.

First up, President Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, checked in with Pence, played by Beck Bennett, at a Pacers game.

That was one of three stops — also a Starbucks location and a wedding — and each time Pence’s character followed orders to leave.

The two individuals at the Pacers game were wearing jerseys but they weren’t the new Nike models. Instead, they wore two outdated jerseys that were probably bought off a rack at Goodwill — of Roy Hibbert (55) and Danny Granger (33).
