The Pacers lost Wednesday to the Charlotte Hornets, 117-95. It was the final game before the All-Star break … and you could tell that was the case with the Pacers. Paul George led the team with 22 points.
“You’ve got to win your home games against teams like this,” Frank Vogel said.
At the All-Star break, the team is 28-25 — good for sixth in the Eastern Conference. The difference, however, in the conference is slim and they would be sitting pretty is not for losing a half dozen games that they had no business losing. The Pacers are three games out of third place, and just two games from being ninth.
It’s that tight.
“We’ve just got to get a better focus as a team,” Paul George added.
Most of the players will head home or to warm cities to enjoy the longest All-Star break in league history. George will be playing in his third All-Star game. Guys will return Tuesday evening, and then their first game is on Friday, Feb. 19 at Oklahoma City.
