This time last year, the Pacers were in do-or-die-time. They ended up losing on the final day of the regular season, in Memphis, and thus did not qualify for the postseason.
Earning their 43rd victory of the season Sunday evening at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the Pacers are officially in. What seed they will be, seven or eight, is still to be determined.
This is so sweet for Paul George, who missed nearly 93 percent of games last season due to his compound fracture in his right leg. He’s played in all 80 regular season games this year and has led the franchise back into the postseason.
“It feels good,” George said with a big smile.
“This organization, since I’ve been here, its been in the playoffs. We’re very proud about that, making it to the playoffs once more. Especially with this group, I think it will be great to get Myles [Turner] some playoff experience and really all of us. It’s a young group.”
