On Thursday, almost seven months removed from the operation room in Las Vegas, Paul George went through what he called his first official practice of the season.
He took part in the entire practice, including full-court work and 5-on-5.
“I felt good,” George, a two-time All-Star, said with a smile. “I felt really good.”
During All-Star weekend in New York, George threw out the goal of returning in mid-March.
“I’m still hopeful, that’s the date I wish to return,” he said. “Long ways away, still got to steps to overcome but that’s still a goal of mine.
“To get here, August 1st after it happened, I didn’t think I’d be where I’m at right now up to this point. I think anybody would if you seen what I saw. I’m happy to be at this point, I’m happy to be practicing again. Just running gives me a smile. I’m happy right now.”
