Joe Young appears in his third commercial for Gatorade with Paul George, and teammate Rakeem Christmas joined them in the latest ad.
This commercial pushes the all-new Gatorade Flow, “all the flavor with a new smooth finish.” It first aired on television during the Pacers’ Game 2 loss Monday at Cleveland.
As VigilantSports.com reported back on the trade-deadline day (Feb. 23), when there was plenty of speculation regarding George’s future with the Pacers, the shoot took place at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Gatorade rented Butler University’s gymnasium all day and those on set had to sign non-disclosure agreements. It was held at Hinkle because Eric Church had a concert that night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Yet, thanks to the advances of technology, it looks like George and the Pacers are playing inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The opponents in the commercial are former college basketball players dressed to look like members of the Detroit Pistons.
In the spot, George blocked the opponents’ layup against the glass, then rushed down to the other end to hit the game-winning jumper.
Ballgame. Real smooth.
