Pacers forward Rakeem Christmas will be hearing it from his teammates as he rejoined the team, recalled from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, on Monday. He was on the bad end of a fierce throw down that was popular over the internet, and television programs on Monday.
Wayne Selden, Jr., a 6-5 forward out of Kansas, drove the lane and evened the score late with a one-handed slam.
Now, while it was a fun highlight to watch, I give credit to Christmas for not just staying out of the play on the left block. He chose to slide over, went straight up with both arms fully extended … and it just didn’t work out.

Well played, Rakeem.
The 6-foot-8 forward has played three games with the Pacers’ D-League affiliate. In his latest game, he scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Two days prior he recorded a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds).
The Pacers recalled Christmas ahead of a five-game trip out west.
The Mad Ants ultimately won the game, to remain the lone undefeated D-League team (5-0), on this layup from Julyan Stone.
