For the past several years, it was Indianapolis native George Hill appearing in various commercials for Indiana Members Credit Union. For each made free throw, they donated a backpack full of school supplies.
Because the Pacers traded Hill to Utah, IMCU needed a new Pacers player to replace him … and they chose Myles Turner, the budding star.
For every shot the 6-foot-11 center blocks, they will donate a backpack. He has rejected 41 shots through 18 games — an average of 2.3 blocks per game, which ranks fourth in the NBA behind Anthony Davis (2.8), Hassan Whiteside (2.6) and Rudy Gobert (2.5).
