Glenn Robinson III and Joe Young joined Rakeem Christmas in Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon for a D-League game. It’s an easy two-hour trip north and gives the Pacers players a good opportunity to get game action in rather than just a practice with the Pacers.
In a 106-101 loss to Sioux Falls, Young scored a game-high 29 points — his highest total in three D-League games. He made 11-of-23 shots, including all three from outside. Robinson III played 41 minutes and recorded a double-double: 11 points and 11 rebounds. Christmas had a bad shoting night, limited to six points on 3-of-13 shooting.
(Sioux Falls played eight guys and seven of them reached double figures.)
Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird was courtside for the game.
By halftime, all three have created highlights worthy of sharing.
First, it was Christmas, who has been with the Mad Ants all season.
Then, Glenn Robinson threw it down. Over the offseason, Lavoy Allen joked that GRIII “dunks everything.”
Finally, it was Joe Young’s heave from mid-court beat the buzzer. They call him Joey Buckets for a reason…
