Fever head coach Stephanie White was officially named the fifth head coach in Vanderbilt women’s basketball history Tuesday afternoon.
“The opportunity to lead Vanderbilt’s women’s basketball program is an opportunity that I simply could not pass up,” White said.
She received a six-year deal, and confirmed Tuesday that Carolyn Peck, who played at Vandy from 1985-1988, will be her associate head coach and hit the ground running as White finishes out the Fever season. Then, she will transition to her new full-time gig.
After practice Tuesday, she spoke with reporters about landing a “dream job,” at Vandy, a school she seriously considered playing for back in the mid-1990s, before ultimately staying home and winning at national championship at Purdue.
