Lance Stephenson welcomes baby girl, Leya, into the world

Lance Stephenson went on Snapchat to announce the arrival of his daughter, Leya. This is the third child for the Brooklyn product, who’s under contract with the Pacers through the 2018-19 season.

Leya was born on Tuesday, June 6th, Stephenson told VigilantSports.com.

Stephenson, who turns 27 in September, welcomed his first child as a teenager. This is another blessing for the Pacers guard this season. After needing surgery, playing on a 10-day contract, and dealing with an ankle sprain, the Pacers brought him back to Indy. That’s where he has played his most successful basketball and been most comfortable.

It’s home, he says.

Without Lance, the Pacers likely miss out on the playoffs. (They were swept in four games by the Cleveland Cavaliers.) In uniform for the final six games, they won their last five to secure a spot in the postseason.

“I like that he brings that amazing energy, that desire and it hit us right on target,” Pacers President Kevin Pritchard said last month. “We don’t make the playoffs if Paul doesn’t amp his game up the last six weeks and we don’t sign Lance.”

Stephenson’s oldest daughter, Liara, is eight years old; Lance, his son, is three.

Between the two girls is his son, who he has referred to both as “Lil Born” … as in Lil Born Ready, and “My lil twin.”
