Pacers 2017 Pre-Draft Workouts: Caleb Swanigan, Purdue

The Pacers’ first workout with draft prospects was held on Monday, and highlighted by the inclusion of Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan. The outstanding rebounder and double-double machine has not yet decided whether he will remain in the draft, or not.

He must finalize his decision by May 24.

Swanigan attended Fort Wayne Homestead and was named Indiana’s Mr. Basketball in 2015. Just 20, he’s coming off a strong sophomore campaign in West Lafayette where he averaged 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. His two big strengths are toughness and rebounding.

Monday was Swanigan’s second workout with the Pacers. He did so last year, only to remove his name from the draft after analyzing the feedback he received from the team and others. Most impressive of all was his appearance. He looked trim and in shape.

The Pacers, who possess picks 18 and 47, have done deep research on Swanigan prior to the draft.
