Video: Tom Crean’s remarks at Big Ten media day

The Big Ten hosted the annual basketball media day Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Ill. Before the breakout sessions, each head coach spoke with a large contingent of media.

Tom Crean gave his thoughts on the upcoming season and emphasized the importance for Cody Zeller to touch the ball on every possession. Click here to listen to Crean.

A few thoughts prior to Big Ten media day

I’ve arrived in Wilmette, Illinois where I’m staying overnight prior to the Big Ten men’s basketball media day. The early morning wake up call is set and I’ll be arriving at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Rosemont just after 7 am.

The annual media day gives up a chance to hear from all the head coaches and select players before the season begins the next …

Having the top draft is the best case scenario for the Colts – then decide Manning or Luck

It’s tough being a sports fan in Indianapolis right now. The Colts currently hold the worst record in the league at 0-7. The Dolphins and Rams are in the Colts rear-view mirror at 0-6. And like it or not, the ‘Suck for (Andrew) Luck’ campaigns are only beginning.

Indy is playing at an unprecedentedly poor level, a level to which so many fans aren’t use …

At 0-7, Colts have hit rock bottom

We knew it was going to be bad, but not this bad. The usual steady hand of the Indianapolis Colts has turned upside down.

At 0-7, the dejected Colts are searching for anything that can get them on track and back to the win column.

We haven’t seen this kind of performance since 1997, when they started 0-10 and there is a very good chance …

Dan Wheldon’s life celebrated with a touching tribute

After Dan Wheldon’s deadly accident last weekend in Las Vegas, his friends, peers and the community of Indianapolis threw a special celebration to honor his life cut too short.

Wheldon died after blunt head trauma in the final IndyCar series race of the season…not quite the thrilling, down-to-wire finish the series had in mind. About 2,500 fans were on hand for the 90-minute tribute to …

IU loses at Iowa, but they found their quarterback in Tre Roberson

The Hoosiers went into Iowa looking to put an end to their four-game losing streak. They weren’t able to get the win, losing to the Hawkeyes 45-24, but they did leave with full confidence in true-freshman quarterback Tre Roberson.

Getting his first collegiate start in a hostile environment, Roberson effectively moved the offense throughout the game and looked poised in doing so. Celebrating his 19th …

Indiana heads west to Iowa in search of first Big Ten win

At 1-6 and winless in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers are obviously desperate for a victory. Indiana is on the road for the second straight week, this time at Iowa for their fourth conference clash.

It’s been tough watching IU football I’ll admit. First-year head coach Kevin Wilson and staff have been instilling their system with mostly guys they were handed plus a few of …

IU basketball to host Haunted Hall of Hoops Oct. 29 after football homecoming

For those Indiana fans that are anxious for the basketball season and want to see how the team looks, head coach Tom Crean is hosting the Haunted Hall of Hoops on Saturday, October 29th following IU’s football game versus Northwestern.

“This event has grown each year and it is something our players and coaches enjoy being a part of,” Coach Crean said. “Anytime we can …
