Stiff defense unable to carry Hoosiers over Penn State

In a low-scoring affair, Indiana competed with Penn State throughout in the teams’ conference opener. The game was exciting in the first and fourth quarters — and I’m sure if you ask IU, they’d love to toss out their ineffective middle two quarters.

The Hoosiers fall to 0-15 all-time against Penn State who won thanks to 16 straight points and an Indiana offense that failed …

Kevin Wilson talks about Indiana’s 16-10 loss to Penn State in conference opener.

And here IU player’s Ted Bolser, Dusty Kiel, Forisse Hardin, Jeff Thomas and Bobby Richardson talk with the media as well:

Dusty Kiel to start over Wright-Baker as Indiana opens Big Ten play

Indiana is 1-3 heading into Saturday’s Big Ten opener against Penn State and they’re looking for answers.

Dusty Kiel, a Columbus East product, will start his first game for the Hoosiers at quarterback as they begin conference play.

Kiel posted the news on his facebook page writing, “let’s goooooooo!…I’m gettin the start. Get ur painted 8 chests ready to go! Hahaha”

First-year head coach Kevin …

Thoughts on Indiana’s 24-21 loss at North Texas

That was ugly. There’s no easy way of saying it. It was simply not good football.

Initially I was upset that the game could only be seen on ESPN3.com — but maybe they saved fans from watching the unbearable, and prevented IU from being a joke in other locker rooms.

The score is deceiving, but Indiana dropped to 1-3 on the season with a 24-21 …

With penalties galore, Kevin Wilson earns first win at IU

It’s not very often fans leave the game early when their team is up big. With the quality of play in Bloomington, maybe the players were checked out even before the game kicked off.

The game wasn’t easy on the eyes to say the least. 20 penalties, missed tackles and lack of enthusiasm. Despite the frustrating and repetitive mistakes, Indiana was victorious for the first …

Stacked Up: Ball State vs. Buffalo

Finally, Scheumann Stadium gets to host its first Ball State Cardinal football game of the 2011 season. The Buffalo Bulls come to down sporting a 1-1 record, with a win over FCS Stonybrook, and a loss vs. Pitt. Ball State is 7-1 all time vs. Buffalo, including a 20-3 win in Buffalo to finish off last season. I’ve been calling this the most important game …

Colts shouldn’t play for Luck – they need to win NOW

After the Indianapolis Colts 34-7 beat down Sunday in Houston, already media and fans are talking about the teams’ chance to draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck as the eventual successor to Peyton Manning.

Are you kidding me? Sure, it sounds great but it’s not realistic.

What we saw Sunday from the Colts was flat out awful, and they’ll be the first to admit it. The …

Another Frustrating Loss For Irish Fans

If you are a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, you have more than likely had BOTH of the following thoughts in each game so far:

1.) “We are unbeatable.”
2.) “We cannot hang on to the ball!”

What’s so frustrating about losing the last two games is that the Irish have clearly dominated each one…and I truly mean dominated. In the first game …
