Eron Gordon opts to transfer from North Central to Cathedral

Eron Gordon, the last of the three Gordon boys, is transferring to Indianapolis Cathedral High School.

“Me and My Parents have decided to transfer from North Central High School to Cathedral High School,” Gordon tweeted Wednesday.

Coming off his sophomore year, where he averaged 14.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, Gordon has two more years of high school remaining.

Eron’s departure means oldest brother, Eric, who just concluded his sixth NBA season, will be the only brother to play all four years at North Central. Evan finished high school at Hargrave Military Academy before college stops at Liberty, Arizona State and last year at Indiana.

I never like to see students transfer in college so switching schools in high school is even more questionable. You just have to hope this situation will a better environment and more comfortable for Eron to succeed. As a North Central alum, it pains me to see him leave but I, like other Panthers, wish him the best.

Gordon holds offers from both in-state Big Ten schools, Indiana and Purdue, and is ranked 35th in the class of 2016, according to Rivals.com. He considered attending Cathedral altogether before ninth grade.

This upcoming season, North Central was expected to loaded. Gordon’s transfer, obviously, is a big hit.
