GLOWfest prepared for a sold-out show during Little 5

Little 500 week has officially begun at Indiana University. Things are warming up, making it the perfect time for food, music and fun.

On Thursday, April 14th, GLOWfest is putting on their second annual concert at IU with Pretty Lights and Chiddy Bang highlighting the show. The other acts set to perform include Mansions On the Moon, George Watsky, The Main Squeeze, and Brice Fox and Daniel Weber.

Last year the inaugural concert was almost sold-out for Mike Posner and LMFAO. Once again using some of the most advanced lighting and sound, Thursday’s concert will be one to remember (or not) at Indiana.

Late Sunday night, GLOWfest officially sold-out. A GLOWfest spokesmen told me last Thursday that 4,314 of 5,000 tickets had been sold. During the pre-sale ticket period over a couple days, nearly 2,000 tickets were sold.

With the show hosted behind the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, graduated brother Jack Shannon is determined to bring its unique concert model focused on connecting with college students.

“We just both work really well together. We think in the same way, both have an innate ability for entrepreneurship, a strong work ethic, and a passion for live music,” Shannon said.

In addition to providing a quality concert to IU students, GLOWfest is giving students valuable experience in putting on a show, dealing with the artists, public relations, and more. There are about 50 interns on staff to put this show on.

Last year a portion of ticket sales were donated to the Haiti Relief Fund. This year GLOWfest is partnering with the Susan G Komen foundation to donate $2 from every ticket and $1.50 from each t-shirt to the breast cancer foundation.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show will get underway at 6 p.m. Click here to buy tickets.
