July’s a very busy month for college basketball coaches and prospects

Indy is a hotbed for high school basketball talent. Last weekend, North Central and surrounding schools hosted the Adidas Classic which attracted over 400 coaches from across the country.

Monday, Ben Davis High School hosted the ninth annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase featuring the top 100 boys and girls in the state grades 9 thru 12.

July is a heavy hitting recruiting month for college coaches. It is a chance for them to evaluate young players, add to their team, and support verbally committed players. This time can be very stressful for players and coaches alike.

Uncommitted players have the added pressure of college coaches watching their every move. And coaches have to make sure prospective talent see what college is at their game watching. It’s all about the face time more than anything. Nonetheless, it’s a critical time for players to showcase their skills and coaches to get quality looks at future players.
