NBA season set to tip-off; Key home dates to mark on your calendar

The preseason is complete and the 82-game journey begins Wednesday for the blue and gold in San Antonio. The Pacers home opener is Saturday against Evan Turner and the 76ers.

Key home dates I’m looking forward to include:

-Nov 18 vs. LA Clippers– North Central and IU product Eric Gordon returns home for his yearly trip back to Indianapolis.
Nov 20 vs. Magic– Orlando is very talented this year led by the outgoing Dwight Howard. They are in a three-way battle with Boston and Miami for the top spot in the east.
Nov 26 vs. ThunderKevin Durant makes his only appearance in Indy. Plus IU’s DJ White.
Dec 15 vs. LA Lakers– The back-to-back champs
Dec 28 vs. Boston– The first “big three,” plus Rondo—now with Shaq and J. O’Neal
Jan 7 vs. San Antonio– Broad Ripple and IUPUI standout George Hill returns to Conseco.
Feb 4 vs. Portland– First my must preface, if healthy…Greg Oden
Feb 15 vs. Miami– The most anticipated game for every team—will the trio make it work in South Beach?
Feb 25 vs. Utah– Butler star Gordon Hayward captured the hearts of basketball fans last March. The Brownsburg native makes his lone trip back to Indianapolis.
Mar 28 vs. Boston– Three months later, they return. (The first “big three,” plus Rondo—now with Shaq and J. O’Neal)
