Pacers Draft – Second Round History and No. 57

The scouting reports are complete, they’ve gathered all desired information on the prospects and are now likely going through final talks – all while perhaps making and fielding calls from around the league.

It’s draft day, and the Pacers are all set. This is like Christmas (or a final exam, however you choose to look at it) for the scouting department, which works all year for this night.

The draft begins at 7:30 p.m. ET but unless they make a draft-night move, the Pacers won’t be on the clock until hours later. Having traded their first-round selection (27) to Phoenix last July, their lone pick is No. 57. And that late in the draft, the Pacers could do a number of things.

History shows that the Pacers have been very active in the draft, particularly in the second round. Over the last 10 years, they have traded a pick eight times, kept it twice, sent three players overseas, and bought a pick.
