Top-five team, no problem. Indiana rolls to 70-55 win over No. 5 Michigan St

Another top-five team entered Assembly Hall Tuesday night and another went home with a loss. Playing possibly their most well-rounded game, No. 20 Indiana defeated No. 5 Michigan State 70-55.

Some Indiana students began lining up at 5 a.m. to watch their team. In a stripe-out at Assembly Hall, the place was sold-out and electric all game long.

Draymond Green finished with a game-high 29 points but it was the total team-effort of Indiana — five players scoring in double figures — that got the win.

IU didn’t allow Michigan State to score any second-chance points. They led by as many as 17 and were efficient at the free-throw line, going 19-for-22.

“I think this team has a lot of basketball left in it,” Tom Crean said postgame. The Hoosiers are playing some of their best basketball, peaking at the right time.

It was the first time in Indiana history that they beat three top-five teams in the regular season. What a turnaround, and they’re not done yet. They are 17-1 at home and will wrap up the season Sunday against rival-Purdue.
